Redoing 4 Digital Scrapbooking Layouts
I shared recently about finishing my digital scrapbooking travel Malaysia Album. Many of the layouts included in this set are layouts from many years ago that I redid. I thought I'd post them here with the old ones to see what you think about the changes.

A lot of these changes feel somewhat arbitrary. The first layout is obviously fine, but I do enjoy all the flowers and elements in the second.

Going for a totally different look with this one, I do love the large photo in the background.

I do prefer to slightly adjusted placement of the photos in the second.
As well as the slight tilt everything has.

A few things remain the same between these two, but I definitely prefer the second.
Better color choice, and more fun details make the second much more appealing to me.

About Me
Hi There! I’m Marisa Lerin and you’ll see me around at DigitalScrapbook.com a lot. I started this site in 2010 soon after I discovered a new love in digital scrapbooking. DigitalScrapbook.com has gone through some significant changes since that time and it’s grown into this lovely community site you are seeing now. I am daily surprised by the turn of life’s events that has led me down this path. If you're new to the site, welcome! Here are a few tidbits about me that I hope will help you get to know me better!
I’m originally from Minnesota, USA, but spent a good chunk of my childhood living abroad (in Bolivia and Hong Kong). I returned to Minnesota to attend university, got married and then moved overseas again (Korea, then Jordan and 1 year of traveling). My designs are heavily influenced by these many nomadic years. I am currently back in the USA, now living in the great state of Oregon!
I have no official training for what I’m doing, since I decided very wisely (haha) to study physics in university. I am always learning new things about digital scrapbooking, and this community has been immensely helpful for that!
If I manage to stop digital scrapbooking you will probably find me watching TV, reading or baking. I also enjoy writing for the blog here at DigitalScrapbook.com where I talk about whatever happens to be catching my fancy at the moment.

@Linda: Everything about journaling is a mystery to me. I think part of it is that I don't even like reading journaling. So it feels like a lose lose scenario. I struggle to write it and then I don't want to read it later either😅
@Marisa and therein lay your biggest challenge - journaling! What if you challenged yourself to journal on 25% of the new pages you're creating for your travel book! bwahahahaaaaaaaaa ... then again, not if it's going to hamper your motivation to work on the new ones... ;-) *heart*
@Linda: To each their own!! *heart*
I must say your redo layouts are so lovely and very different, I love them. So glad layouts are not written in stone and that we are able to redo them to suit with the new stuff that keeps on coming. Wonderful!
@Marisa And here I feel like my layout isn't finished unless there's some kind of journaling - whether a story or a quote. hahaha
@Marisa I hate journaling as well lol!
@Sharin: I don't journal! I hate it! :)
Super re-do. Lovely!
Absolutely love the second one, beautiful background!
Absolutely love the
I love the re-dos. Especially the one with the full photo background. Your years of experience in scrapbooking really show. Just Beautiful.
Ohhhh, I *love* the re-do's! Much better look. Just one question: Is the journaling on a hidden layer that you're family will be able to see in the completed project?
@Kate: I do have the PSDs. :)
Thanks everyone!
Nice redos
Those are lovely do-overs.
It's fun to see the before and after on these!
So fun to see these side by side! Love the redo of No 2 particularly, that gorgeous photo deserves to be big. I'm curious. Did you keep the .PSD files of these all these years or have you redone them from scratch?
Someone once said: "Let's get it down, then we'll get it good." It is amazing how a fresh look at something can produce something so awesome as your updated layouts and clustering. I love it! Thanks for sharing.
I like both versions but we all change so much with what we like in a few years. If I were to have my wedding now instead of 17 years ago, EVERYTHING would be different, but I loved what I chose at the time.
So nicely done - love the transformations. It's not like the first ones weren't already nice, but the new ones seem a bit more modern in a way. Love it
