Things I Love Right Now: September 2016
Here are a few things I'm loving right now:
Drying Rack - I recently upgraded my drying rack to one that doesn't fall over and it's been tremendous. I love hanging clothes out to dry. It's such a soothing break in the day.
Change in Weather - I'm so thrilled about the change in weather. It seems unpopular not to like summer, but when I think about it, I'm not sure why anyone would like summer. It's so difficult to wear scarves! I'm sure many of you are with me. We recently put on our "winter" duvet, and it was almost the greatest day of my life.
Historical Mysteries - I am always obsessed with historical mysteries, but lately I've been reading the Charles Lenox series by Charles Finch. It is not exactly my usual since the main character is male, but I've been enjoying it nonetheless. It's pretty slow moving, with a lot of unrelated details, which is my thing, but may not be yours :)
Hey Big Star by Kishi Bashi - Kishi Bashi is one of my absolute favorites, and this new song of his is AMAZING. I dance to it every day.
Cute Fruits - I'm quite pleased with how my recent Cute Fruits bundle turned out, particularly the art prints. I haven't printed them out myself yet, I'm just trying to figure out where to put them.
Party Burgers - I made these Cheesy Party Burgers lately and everyone found them delicious. Looking forward to making them again.
Please let me know what you're loving right now. It may be just the thing I need!

About Me
Hi There! I’m Marisa Lerin and you’ll see me around at DigitalScrapbook.com a lot. I started this site in 2010 soon after I discovered a new love in digital scrapbooking. DigitalScrapbook.com has gone through some significant changes since that time and it’s grown into this lovely community site you are seeing now. I am daily surprised by the turn of life’s events that has led me down this path. If you're new to the site, welcome! Here are a few tidbits about me that I hope will help you get to know me better!
I’m originally from Minnesota, USA, but spent a good chunk of my childhood living abroad (in Bolivia and Hong Kong). I returned to Minnesota to attend university, got married and then moved overseas again (Korea, then Jordan and 1 year of traveling). My designs are heavily influenced by these many nomadic years. I am currently back in the USA, now living in the great state of Oregon!
I have no official training for what I’m doing, since I decided very wisely (haha) to study physics in university. I am always learning new things about digital scrapbooking, and this community has been immensely helpful for that!
If I manage to stop digital scrapbooking you will probably find me watching TV, reading or baking. I also enjoy writing for the blog here at DigitalScrapbook.com where I talk about whatever happens to be catching my fancy at the moment.

Right now I'm obsessed with your teacup and saucer - so chic. :-) I love the Aurora Teagarden Mysteries by Charlaine Harris, I love a cozy murder mystery for the Autumn time (I really don't like summer either, it makes me very grumpy). After I read the first Aurora Mystery I went straight on to read two and three, now waiting for my local library to get in number 4. I'm also loving a cup of green tea in the afternoon with a chocolate bar. Oh and I'm also obsessed with ordering Crafty Goodie Boxes, it's like receiving a birthday present everything month! Creative Blessings, Tracy x
@Violet: I was obsessed with Miss Fisher, although I preferred the series to the books. I've been watching Endeavour (Amazon Prime) and Inspector Lewis (not historical, still good, also on Prime). I will look into Bletchley Circle.
I love Kishi Bashi! He's definitely an exception to my usual "how can listening to depressing music make you so happy?" taste. And I very much agree with you about summer. We're entering our usual September-October summer heat here and it's making me very grumpy. Since most of the year it's a sensible 50-60 at night I only have my one mid-weight duvet, so Fall involves a lot of kicking it off onto the floor :)
Do you like to watch historical mysteries as well as read them? We watched the first season of The Bletchley Circle last night (on Netflix) and it was marvelous. Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries (also Netflix) is also fantastic, have you read the Phryne Fisher books the show is based on?
This month my happy-making and life-improving items are a decorative bamboo ladder to hang my tights on and a special spatula shaped to get the last bits out of the Vitamix. I've also just discovered "golden milk" (almond milk mixed with turmeric and other spices) and now I crave it all the time. And lastly, a couple weeks ago my partner experimentally put some Noosa yogurts in the freezer... let's just say I'm having a little exception to being vegan this month. Frozen tart cherry Noosa is indescribably good and I can't get enough of it.
Thanks for sharing ladies!
@Katie: I am also a bit obsessed with sparkling water.
@Simulina: Looks like you've done some good organization!
I love spiced apple cider in frozen mugs!
A drying rack that doesn't fall over? I so need this! Along with the long-awaited autumn (especially after the heatwaves we had in Europe this summer) I am in love with fresh fig season right now - delicious with cheese and honey on a piece of baguette, or in a leafy green salad. I finally broke down and bought a large box/carton because with getting just 4 or 5 at a time they were barely making it past the ride home from the shop!
I hate summer too and am loving that it's officially fall! Though I live in Florida so it doesn't really get cool in the fall :( Lately, I've been loving La Croix sparkling water. I've been trying to kick my diet coke obsession so I tried it and they are delicious and guilt free!
I'm looking for a few months at my new order in the house. I finally found the way to keep order over a long period. I'm not quite ready, but soon. That's what I'm looking at the time.
The book of the Japanese Marie Kondo "Magic Cleaning" is responsible. My advice. An orderly life increases the spontaneity very.

I HATE summer AND I live in TEXAS! :D I LOVE the "fall", when we get one (it's currently 93 degrees)!
OK...we've tried all these sliders recipes (https://www.buzzfeed.com/alvinzhou/your-slider-game-will-never-be-the-same-after-watching-this) and LOVE them (though be forewarned...you may want to use half the pepper to top the ham one!)! And KevinAndAmanda.com has some great recipes, too! Those look delicious!
